In an 4x4 IFS suspension system, the CV (Constant Velocity) joints are used for smooth transmission of power on front tires. As great quality as CV joints are, they have their limitations.
The issue with an IFS is the vertical distance between the differential centre & the front hubs. As the diff centre is physically bolted to the chassis there are already huge angles to contend with to get drive down through the suspension and to the front wheels. Lifting the suspension not only increases that angle, it also starts pushing the suspension geometry and the CV joints to their limitations.
Dr. Nano Differential Drop Kits are highly recommended for vehicles with more than 40mm lift. Dropping your differential will lower your front differential and reduce excess wear of CV joints and axles. This is a common fix for those who are experiencing vibrations after installing a lift kit.
